Did you receive an email or notification that your scheduled post through Social Curator failed to publish? If so, you’re in the right place! This article will walk you through common failure messages for scheduled posts and how to get them fixed!

Invalid parameter

If you received this failure message, it is most commonly due to your video not being selected as a ‘Reel’.

Due to Meta’s rules, videos must be categorized as 'Reels'. So when posting a video from Social Curator, please be sure to select 'Reel' instead of 'Feed' as shown here 😊

Only photo or video can be accepted as media type.

This failure message occurs usually for the following reasons:

  1. You have multiple images that aren’t all in the same orientation. For carousels, photos must either be all horizontal or all vertical. Please make sure all photos have the same orientation and try again.

  2. You’re uploading photos of different file types. Please ensure all photos are either .JPEG or .PNG

  3. You’ve included a mix of videos and images in your carousel. Meta only allows one file type for auto-posting. Your carousel must either be all photos or all videos but cannot be a combination.

The video file you selected is in a format that we don’t support

If you get this fail code, try re-uploading your video as a .MP4 file.

The aspect ratio is not supported

This means the platform you're trying to post to doesn't support the size/aspect ratio of the photo/video you've uploaded.

If this occurs with a carousel, it may mean that you're trying to post images that are different sizes, orientations or file types. When auto-posting a carousel, it must be only images (no videos) that are the same size and orientation

You can edit/resize the photo by using a tool like Canva.

Token expired

Any fail codes referencing an expired token means the profile needs to be reconnected. You can find all the steps to do this below:

  • Log in to Social Curator.

  • Navigate to your “Connections” page found from your account menu.

  • Click the trash icon to the right of the account you wish to disconnect.

  • Click “Confirm”

  • *Note*: Removing the account will not DELETE the account. It will simply disable the ability to auto-post to that account from within the Social Curator.

Other Common Fail Codes:

Permissions

If you receive any fail messages that mention permissions or restrictions it is likely due to the permission settings when you connected your accounts. We recommend you reconnect your Social accounts to your Social Curator account but be sure you allow all permissions.

Reconnect and try again

For any other fail codes like ‘fatal’ or ‘unexpected’ please reconnect your profile and try again.

If you are still experiencing issues with your posts not being published, click ‘Help & Support’ on the left side of your menu to chat with the Customer Support Team.
